Multimedia: Duration and position have different units depending on plug-in being used (QuickTime vs. DirectShow)

QuickTime uses milliseconds for duration and position.

DirectSHow uses microseconds.

At the very minimium there should be a method to get the timescale; but if not, one or the other unit should be chosen as the standard – preferably microseconds to give more resolution.
