Video Player example returns "DirectShowPlayerService::doRender: Unresolved error code 80040218" when loading video running DirectShow version 6.6.7601.17514 in Windows.

Using the "player" example that comes in mobility kit demos, I get the above error when playing the video. The problem only happens on machines running the newer Direct Show version (6.6.7601.17514). I have several machines that work fine with version 6.6.7600.16490.
The DirectShow error code translates to "No combination of filters could be found to render the stream". This problem occurs with .avi video files with various codecs. The files play fine in Windows Media Player and on other machines, so they are not corrupted and I have the right codecs.
