Fetch of landmarks temporarily freezes UI on Symbian

The asynchronous funtions appear to freeze the UI

attached is a sample application that demonstrates the issue. To reproduce
1) save a few hundred landmarks by clicking the save button a few times (it saves 50 landmarks at a time, the number of landmarks are displayed)
2) then click the fetch button
3) Observe that while the request is in the active state, the timer stops.
