archivegen tool crashes sometimes with exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)

The archivegen tool crashes on some input sizes.

I use it to create an installer archive for my application, there are about 70 files a total size of about 28 megabytes. Sometime it helps to reduce the compression level but not on all sizes.
