QXmlSchema fails to load valid .xsd

Attempting to load OGC xml schema definition files with QXmlSchema::load may result in:

Error XSDError in file::/basicTypes3_2_1_0.xsd, at line 221, column 14: Variety of member types of {http://www.opengis.net/gml/3.2}integerOrNilReason must be atomic.

The schema itself should be perfectly well formed and no errors can be found when ran through a validator.
