Regression: setting anchors to parent dynamically via PropertyChanges fails

Running the attached sample project in 5.12 Beta 1 results in a slew of

QML MouseArea: Cannot anchor to an item that isn't a parent or sibling.

error messages and the controls don't show up when hovering over the edge areas of the window. Things work as expected in 5.11.2.
