Document font selection algorithm on different platforms

The font selection algorithm in Qt is quite complex and contains both cross-platform and platform-specific peculiarities. For our own overview, we should have a good white paper-style documentation that covers everything. This may also be interesting for users, so it could be written as part of the technical documentation.
