Description
The CUPS print system used almost universally in linux systems support the concept of autodiscovered printers and driverless printing.
Unfortunately in Qt applications (including all KDE applications) it is simply impossible to print on autodiscovered printers because they do not get listed as possible destinations in the Qt print dialog.
This is clearly a Qt issue, because the same printers appear in the print dialogs of other applications (GTK application, libreoffice) and also appear on invocation of `lpstat`.
Note that this issue is not present on many linux distros (e.g. ubuntu) that most likely provide their own downstream patches on top of Qt to solve the problem. However, distros that ship stuff tending to avoid downstream patching (arch, manjaro) have the issue.
This is a big problem because universities and large offices are all going for autodiscovered printers today.
